Carne Asada Street Tacos Preparation

Groceries Needed

  • 4 inch corn or flour tortillas
  • Avocado
  • Ranchero cheese
  • Desired taco toppings

Preparation & Serving Instructions

Cook times are for frozen meals. Times may vary by slow cooker/pressure cooker. Ensure all food reaches 165°F (74°C) before serving. If cooking a thawed meal, use the shorter cooking time listed as a guideline.

Serve: Shred meat and return to juice to soak about 20 minutes before serving. Can transfer to grill after cooking for crisper meat.

Cook in the Dutch oven, smoker, or over the grill.

Oven

Thaw meal in refrigerator overnight. When thawed, place in oven proof baking dish, cover and bake at 325F for 2 1/2- 3 hours or until beef is tender and shreds easily (or to an internal temperature of 165 F).

Pressure Cooker

Cook for 30-35 minutes on manual, or to internal temperature of 155° F, natural pressure release. May add up to ¼ cup liquid before cooking to bring up to pressure.

Slow Cooker

Using a 1.5-2 quart slow cooker, cook on low 6-8 hours or to an internal temperature of 155° F.

Grill

Thaw meal in refrigerator overnight. When thawed, grill outdoors until cooked through, or a temperature of 155° F. Discard leftover marinade (DO NOT POUR OVER COOKED MEAT).

Seasoning

For stronger flavors, add 30-60 minutes before serving:

Cumin | ½ tsp

Garlic | ½ tsp

Chili Powder | ½ tsp
