Italian Sausage & Tortellini Soup Preparation

Included Ingredients

Small

Meals feed 2-3

Stovetop

Cook from frozen in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add 1 cup of water and break up as it thaws and cooks. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook for 25-30 minutes. Add 1/2 bag of tortellini and allow to simmer for 10-15 more minutes. *If you prefer a more brothy soup, instead add 1.5 cups of water and 1/2 tsp bouillon before cooking.

Pressure Cooker

Add 1 cup of water and cook on manual for 10 minutes, quick pressure release. Switch to sauté and add 1/2 bag of frozen tortellini. Boil for about 5 minutes, stirring often. *If you prefer a more brothy soup, instead add 1.5 cups of water and 1/2 tsp bouillon before cooking.

Slow Cooker

Add 1 cup of water and using a 1.5-2 quart slow cooker, cook on low 3-4 hours. Add 1/2 bag of tortellini and allow to simmer for 10-15 more minutes. *If you prefer a more brothy soup, instead add 1.5 cups of water and 1/2 tsp bouillon before cooking.

Seasoning

For stronger flavors, add 30-60 minutes before serving:

Add a dash of Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

Garlic | ¼ tsp

Oregano | ¼ tsp

Basil | ¼ tsp

Meals feed 4-6

Slow Cooker

Add 2 cups of water and cook on low 3-4 hours. Add full bag of frozen tortellini to slow cooker with 15 minutes left. Stir and serve. *If you prefer a more brothy soup, instead add 3 cups of water and 1 cube of bouillon before cooking.

Pressure Cooker

Add 2 cups of water and cook on manual for 20 minutes. Quick pressure release. Switch to sauté and add full bag of frozen tortellini. Boil about 5 minutes, stirring often. *If you prefer a more brothy soup, instead add 3 cups of water and 1 cube of bouillon before cooking.

Seasoning

For stronger flavors, add 30-60 minutes before serving:

Crushed Red Pepper Flakes | ⅛ tsp

Garlic | ½ tsp

Oregano | ½ tsp

Basil | ½ tsp
